Social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) has criticised Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and his family over what he described as the state’s lack of development, alleging that singer B-Red once offered to take him to meet his father so they could collect money and share it.
Speaking about the alleged offer, VDM said, “That B-Red has once told me that, ‘VDM, he wants to take me to his father, his father will give me money, then we’ll now share it and I’ll give him his share.’ The f¥ck, who does that?”
He also questioned the Adeleke family's continued influence in Osun State, arguing that the state needed to give other families an opportunity to govern.
“If they have held that state for more than 35 years and it’s still like that, then they need to leave the state for other people to try, another family to try,” he said.
VDM further questioned the absence of an airport in the state, arguing that inadequate infrastructure could make it difficult to attract investors.
“So how do you bring investor to such state? Tell me now, how do you bring investor to such state?” he asked.
The critic also took aim at the luxury vehicles reportedly owned by the governor’s children, contrasting their lifestyle with the development challenges facing the state.
“Governor’s children buying Lamborghini and 2026 G-Wagon in a poor state like that, and you tell me their family have money. The state has no impact,” he said.
Explaining why he waited until after the campaign period to speak, VDM said he did not want his criticism to be interpreted as an attempt to campaign against the governor.
He maintained that his comments were driven by patriotism rather than personal disagreements or political interests.
“I speak because of how patriotic I am. I don’t care. There’s no friendship. There’s no relationship I have with anybody that will stop me from pointing out what I want to point out,” he said.
VDM also denied ever receiving payment from anyone to publish content, insisting that no individual had paid him for his posts since he began his online activities.
“There has never been anybody since I started that will come and say, ‘I paid VeryDarkMan for this.’ No dey,” he added.
He maintained that he would continue to call out public officials despite criticism, saying his pride and ego had helped him resist attempts to bribe him into silence.
